An Introduction to World of Warships: Big, big guns!

Are you a fan of WW2-themed games? Do you like big ships with massive guns? Well, if you're looking for a shoot-em-up game that doesn't involve sprinting, sniping, and jumping, maybe World of Warships is the game you need.

World of warships is a free-to-play, team-based shoot-em-up game that takes you behind the steering wheel of massive war vessels. It's being developed by Wargaming.net and it's the latest addition in their series of games, following World Warplanes and World of Tanks. The game forces you to think strategically and like a true captain.

"The highly anticipated AAA title World of Warships is the latest in a series of free-to-play, historical online combat games to be added to the Wargaming portfolio. Command history's most iconic war vessels as you build your own massive naval fleet. Level up important tech modules and prepare to dominate the oceans! With four classes of ship, a myriad of upgrades and strategically designed environments, the action never ends. Every match is a unique experience. Hours of strategy, tactical gameplay and pulse-pounding combat await all who take the helm in World of Warships!"

In World of Warships, there are 6 countries with a wide array of ships - USA, Japan, Russia, Germany, Great Britain, and Poland. Those ships are divided into four main classes.

Aircraft carriers are multi-role ships that add RTS-style gameplay to the mix. Carrying three types of aircraft (Dive Bombers, Torpedo Bombers and Fighters) and the ability to command multiple squadrons at the same time, carriers can shape the battle from the skies.

Destroyers are lightly armored but swift. They are the fastest and most maneuverable ships available. These vessels are perfect for hunting enemy battleships, spotting them for teammates to target or blowing them out of the water personally. Their deadly torpedoes can quickly send any enemy ship to the depths.

Cruisers are major threats on the open water. Combining speed, maneuverability and firepower, they deal damage from either massive cannons or torpedoes. Additionally, the anti-aircraft guns that line their decks offer a good line of defense against high-flying threats.

Battleships are the designated "heavy hitters" of World of Warships. Massive cannons, thick armor and rows of anti-aircraft artillery make them a deadly “triple threat” in any situation.

Making the best choices and planning strategic positions is critical in this game. One wrong turn and your mighty battleship might become a target practice for your enemies. It's preferable to main in one ship class at a time.

That's because the higher the ship tier, the more it costs in XP, upgrades, and credits, and that means a lot of grinding. But of course, it will be rewarding in the end, because all that grinding will let you command more powerful ships. Each ship captain in your ship roster gains XP as well and upgrading them gives you special skills that can help you in your battles.

If you want to support the game, you can purchase a premium account which grants you increased XP and credits per battle. Having a premium account will help you advance faster but of course it'll cost real money.

I don't want to spoil more of the game because it's more exciting to learn how the game works by playing the game yourself. World of Warships is a beautifully-crafted game and playing it will be worthwhile. You can download the game by clicking on this link. Have fun and see you on the high seas!
